ranger gas tank and fuel pump question

i have a 95 ranger stepside. Im wanting a single cab ranger gas tank, because they are shorter then the ext cab gas tanks. I found one off a 93, and im just wondering will my fuel pump fit in that gas tank, or what year gas tanks and fuel pumps can i use??

i used my stock pump from my ext cab tank in a reg cab tank... need 2 get a fuel cell tho

I'm using a '93 ish Dakota fuel tank, pump fits just fine, have to use the Dakota lock ring though. The fuel pump mounting flange is just a bit smaller then should be, and I had to make an adapter ring, but still can't the thing to seal and stop throwing CEL lights.

gen I ranger steel tanks hang above the frame just a hair and the pump will go right in.

Okay, I have a 98 ford ranger L4 2.5 liter. Believe it or not this baby has 180,000 miles on it and has always run like a dream...until lately...

When I reach higher speeds, usually around 40 mph, the truck is acting very sluggish. The more I push on the gas, the slower it wants to go, it will barely go up a hill on the highway, and the acceleration is completely non-existent unless going down a hill.

I think it might be the fuel pump...but I have no definate idea...Please help!
