Ok, so Im going to be getting a new Ranger here in a few weeks. I originally wanted to EDGE model but after reading around I found that they are almost impossible to lay frame without ALOT of work. So now I have to find which ranger I need to get..

Two options I am looking at..in either 3.0L stick or 4.0L Auto

2005 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab 4dr 2WD or
2005 Ford Ranger STX Stylside 4dr 2WD

I am having a bit of a hard time finding these specific trucks, and also curious as to what are the exact differences between the trucks?

Are all the interiors the same?
What does it take to get the EDGE styling package onto the other trim levels? I am assuming I wouldnt be able to EDGE-out the STX due to the different bed..

Just looking for tips here, I plan to lay frame with 20's eventually. Maybe even looking into a full frame with SFBD using the stock ranger front suspension and a custom rear. Whats the best truck and why? I am looking for pros and cons of each truck to make it easier in the long run before I buy the actual truck! thanks and sorry for the long post!

Just make sure it is a fleetside meaning not a splash bed. It is more work to lay out on 20's because you have to raise the sides.

Ive been down that route before. I used to have a Splash with 20's, unfortunately it was stolen just before bagging. Im more worried about the front end now though. I wanna make sure it will lay out!

I vote for XLT regular bed, I just don't like how the fender flares don't match between the Mazda (STX) bed & Ranger Fenders

How much did you have to cut or move to get the 20s underneath the front end? Are you SFBD or traditional?

The only thing that had to be cut was the inner fenders and notch the frame for the tie rods...didnt touch anything else nothing was moved...you dont have to notch the firewall but you will lose a/c and brake booster will need to be relocated and on mine the fuse box also
