I don't even know why I open it half the time.

I end up checking the Ford Service CD I bought on ebay often - especially for the electrical stuff.

I made the mistake of buying one of those once for a stang I owned....to replace the heater core its directions were to remove the dash...ha ha ha ha...what a joke....

Anyways....you said Ford CD service manual has electrical stuff? Does it have all the wiring diagrams in it?
Like people read this stupid thing anyways...

yeah RangerDrgnOnYou...i had to replace the heater core in my truck yesterday and i had to take out my dash to get to the heater core housing on the passenger side. Haynes manual left out a BUNCH of stuff. i just hope the new one works because i am not doing that again any time soon. i got like an hour or so left of putting my dash back together. good thing is that i know what to expect when i take my dash apart...LOL.

rootin tootin TELL ME ABOUT IT!

i bought one for my Explorer.....i had to replace the ignition lock and it said to push on the lock pin through a hole in the lower column cover.......well, guess what?

THERE IS NO HOLE IN MY LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER.....i ended up pulling everything off the steering column and still couldn't get the lock out, so i said EFF it and took a old flathead screwdriver and a BMFH and beat the screwdrive into the lock, gave it a good pull towards me and a push away from me, the lock split into 2 pieces and fell out....

part of it is still in there, but at least now i can get it in nuetral to have it towed home.......

u have to take the column cover off, there is a hole that a 1/8 in drill bit fits in, and u push it in and turn it to acc w/ the key in it and the cylinerder comes right out. if u have no key, u have to drill the pin out and itll come out to :)

AllData is a program the repair shops use....it tells you almost EVERYTHING on just about EVERYTHING. We use Mitchell OnDemand where I work...it's decent, but defintly geared towards the auto tech. Never have used AllData.

the haynes manual says there is a hole, and shows a pic of it....

but yah, i found the hole, and my brother had told me about drilling it, but i didn't have a drill with me, so i just got it to where its towable and will worry about whats left in there once its home and i can use my drill
