I don't know anything about trucks, but my husband loves them and customizes his ranger all the time. I want to get him something for his truck for his birthday, but he's given me so many choices that I don't know which to get for him. Which should come first, or does it matter? He has 20's and a drop, but he wants to drop it more. He wants a rollpan, bags, a new front clip, projector headlights, a tailgate skin, a new paint job.. everything.. he does little things all the time, but I want to get him something big that's not going to be too big on my wallet. Any suggestions?

no on the paint job, since hes got alot more bodywork he still wants to do..the best gift you could give him is bags, but if your worried about money...its gonna run youa couple grand.same with the new front clip, roll pan isnt too expensive, i would say finish up the back end for him. unless you want to spend the 2 gs on bags!

You are in dangerous territory. While it is nice that you want to buy him this stuff, you really shouldn't unless you know EXACTLY what he wants. Like for bags, what brands he wants for valves, fittings, four link, etc. all make a big difference. Same goes for most parts. I know it sounds bad, but you might just want to give him the cash with explicit instructions that it can only be spent on a certain part(s).

i already got him the subscription to mini truckin for valentine's day. He's pretty specific when he talks about the things he wants. I know he wants a smooth tailgate skin, and everytime we see someone with one of those angled indented license plates he likes it. So, i'm pretty certain on what he wants as far as that goes. And, as for the bags.. I don't have a problem spending that much, but it wouldn't be for just one gift, I think if were to cost that much it would be a process. Like, i'd get him the kit for one occasion and the labor for another. You're right about the brand thing on the bags though. I don't know which types he'd want for all the seperate parts. Is it better to buy it all in one kit, or piece by piece?

Especially if he's got exact brands in mind. Just make sure you don't forget anything. Easiest way is to make a checklist of all the components in a kit, then just find those parts from the desired manufacturers.

Oh, and best bet is to ask your husband exactly what he wants. Don't ask us for our opinions on which brands to get - it will just confuse you more on certain items.
