I want to do a drivers view shot inside my truck. How to mount a camera, want to be able to see all the gauges, inluding how fast the speedo goes up

Anyone mount a camera in their truck or car, or can think of a way to rig it ?

SPNGR311, you sound like you'd be good at this, let me know, I could use your ingenuity for this.

Once I take video how can I get it hosted ?

How big is the camera? If it's small enough, you can make a simple wooden or similar mount an attach to the bottom of the camera, maybe with some sides to prevent tipping, and strap it to the top of the steering column, it should get all the gauges in.

It all depends on the camera. I have some sources we can try for one. Give me a call sometime in the next couple of days and we can hammer it out.

I was gonna use my x10 camera as a "drag cam" just weld a small bracket off my framerail, and have the camera facing the rear.. it would show my bags functioning.. and then alot of sparks.. but I had the camera on its robot stand on my front porch and someone knocked it off into a puddle of water.. so there went my plan lol.

it's hard to get a driver's view on a cam, most cam's do not have the capabilities to shoot that wide of an angle...if you have access to a cam like such, go for it

but in other words, only way would be to mount the camera behind your head so it'll get the outside shot off the window, but the problem is getting the gauges

what you could do is mount a camera off to the right of your head, you could mount it off of the roof, make some brackets out of some sheet metal..it'll be able to catch the gauges and be able to see out the window, not exactly driver's view, but it'll get the job done

Drivers view? Um i know of a guy who had a piece of tubing welded behind his seats from that ran the length of his car. Had a tripod mount in the center of it.

If its a small enough camera, find a tripod that will fit it and go off an idea from that. Mount it by the trans, on the column, behind the seats, somethin.
I come correct like a pornstar
