Not sure how many out there have smoothed the lower body seam, but I've got a quick question. On mine, the main rocker panel isn't on the same plane as the rear rocker piece, there is a definite ledge there. Did you feather that edge out, or weld in a patch piece to make them on the same plane, then go from there?

Well, about the only one I'm not gonna do is the one on the A-pillar. I'd have to remove the windshield to really do it right, and I don't feel like removing that.

There's only six body seams to get rid of. The upper and lower body lines are staying for now...I'd love to smooth the sides out and remove all body lines, but not at this time.

Yeah, I looked at the contour with a flat edge, and I'd have to make the patch panel extend all the way to the cab corner and then wrap around...I simply don't have the tools to make a patch panel of that nature...so welding and some body work is all I can do, it'll still be on two planes, but oh well.

your truck must be different then mine, on my 96 i could just weld it up, sounds like you want to make a whole new rocker panel for the ext cab part.

Nah, not a whole new panel, but where the two body panels meet, they aren't even. I can put a straight edge (framing square) so that it rests on the rocker panel, and the small section under the door is lower then the straight edge by about 3/8".

Sorta looks like this when viewed from above:

main rocker panel/small piece at rear, under rear door:
