3.0-2.3 question

Would anyone happen to know if a 01-02 3.0 harness will work on a 03-04 2.3 engine?? A friend of mine slung a rod in his 3.0 and wants to drop down to a 2.3. Ive never really done any swaps going down in engine size, or tryin to use the same harness in a swap involoving a different sized engine. Sooooo im not too certain on it. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Later
