I wanna put a 302 in my ranger, but a buddy offered me a running 289 last nite for free. I was wandering if it would be much different than putting the 302 in. Since its free i'd have some money to do some power upgrades and i'm on a budget anywayz. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Agreed.

They are the same engine.

That 289 is carb'd, and would probably have to be rebuilt.
